Review: The revenge genre is often one of fatigue. Most are either so moody and forget what makes the fantasy so stupid entertainment or any glimpse as to the realism or consequences. Dead Man Down offers just the right amount of grittiness to be taken seriously, but also to maintain its own identity with a focus on developing character development and a more philosophical view of the nature of the evening. The gangster revenge and their circumstances can be a recurring plot, but the confusing structure, importance feel competent and acting improve new twist fluctuations.
