Review: Still worth the high price of admission to see 3-D animacióny an amazing design, but the writing is very boring and dull, and the presentation can not save it. Too many liberties taken with the original here, and not in any way to improve on them, only barely resembles any of Carrolls books on the subject and some specific scenes. There are several Disney moments that literally trigger a reflex gag as well. The animation is quite impressive and wonderful, though, such as costumes and scenery (while there are rows and not just green screen I'm sure some actual props used). There are some clever elements that owe only to good visual design and direction I'm sure, as the only other clever bits of dialogue are the parts directly lifted from the original. |
